
Supporting the future of Books: About Thekgang
Thekgang is a non-profit company dedicated to supporting and growing the books and publishing, manufacturing and distribution industry. Our origins stem from a call from the Department of Sport, Arts and Culture to establish organisations and will advance and represent different sectors in the Creative and Cultural Industries (CCI). Our primary focus is manufacturing and distribution of books, driven by our objective to see more books made, distributed and sold in South Africa.
Our Mission
To champion the growth, innovation, and accessibility of South Africa’s book and publishing industry ecosystem by supporting sustainable manufacturing, equitable distribution, and inclusive storytelling. We empower stakeholders in our industry through strategic partnerships, capacity-building initiatives, and advocacy, ensuring that our literature and knowledge reach every corner of South Africa and beyond.

Our Board
Our board is made up of individuals who are passionate about growing the industry. They come from different backgrounds, bringing with them years of experience and a wealth of knowledge in various fields. Our board members are:
